Hopkins Makes The Call For Mizzou

The Missouri Tigers add to their growing 2012 recruiting class by landing one of their top defensive tackle prospects on their board in Donald Hopkins, and he talks about why he chose Mizzou.

The Missouri Tigers have received an expected verbal commitment from a talented 2012 DT prospect, in Donald Hopkins 6'2" 270 4.9 Lago Vista (TX).  Hopkins confirmed the commitment to ShowMeMizzou.com.

"At first, I sat down with my parents, and my head coach,"  explained Hopkins.  "We were just talking about it.  They asked me what I wanted to do.  They had no idea that I was going to commit today.  I knew from late last night that Missouri's where I wanted to be."

"When I told them that I wanted to commit to Missouri, they were all high-fiving and happy,"  continued Hopkins.  "Then, I called up (Missouri Assistant) Coach (Brian) Jones, and told him.   He was walking into the coaches' meeting, and he started yelling and hollering.  And, then I talked to all of the coaches there.  They were all excited!"

Hopkins insists that he's a solid commit to Missouri.

"I really like Missouri,"  said Hopkins.  "I felt comfortable when I was there.  If they would have offered me when I was there, I would have committed (in April).  I think I'm going to stick with Missouri."

Hopkins is planning to visit Missouri in the fall.
