Winston Knew When The Time Was Right

New Missouri Tiger football commitment Evan Winston tells about his decision to become a Missouri Tiger and when he knew the timing was right to make the call.

New Missouri commit Evan Winston(6'4" 255) had made an unofficial to Missouri back in June with his Father and felt good about the Missouri Tigers afterwards. However, it was a recent unofficial visit with his Mother and Aunts that sealed the deal for him to join the Mizzou football program as it's newest commit and member of the defensive line.

"I took another trip to Columbia on an unofficial with my Mom and my Aunts to show my Mom what it was like and I fell in love with it and knew that I wanted to be a Missouri Tiger then. Actually, I fell in love with it all over again since I loved it the first time when I was there. My Mom loved it,too, so that was good.,' said Winston.

Winston credited the coaching staff as being a big reason behind picking the Tigers.

" The ability of the coaching staff and the coaches are the main reason for picking Missouri. I know they are successful and will give me the best opportunity to be successful at Missouri both with football and my education."he said.

The Tiger coaching staff was very happy when Evan made his decision along with his parents and rest of his family according him.

I asked Evan, who plays DE in high school, where he might play along the Missouri defensive line once he arrives.

"That all depends on how I do with my strength and conditioning and how big I get. Right now it looks like I will be a 3-technique tackle in the future."he said.

Evan Winston chose the Missouri Tigers over Iowa, Syracuse, Houston and Cincinnati among others.
