Rosburg Narrows List To Top 5

2012 St. Louis (Mo) Marquette center/power forward Ryan Rosburg has narrowed his list of schools he is considering and gives us an update as to where his recruitment is with the Tigers.

St. Louis (MO) Marquette C/PF Ryan Rosburg 6'10" 250 had a busy summer of AAU ball while being heavily recruited by many schools, and now the talented big man has narrowed his focus to 5 schools that he is being recruited by with the hopes of making a decision before the start of his senior basketball season.

"I have been doing a lot of thinking and took an official visit and an unofficial visit last weekend, and I have narrowed my list to 5 schools," said Rosburg. "Those 5 are in no particular order, Missouri State, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech."

The St. Louis area big man laid out his plans for the next month or so in the hopes of helping him make his choice.

"I made my official visit to Missouri State a couple of weeks ago, and I made an unofficial visit to Mizzou this past weekend. I will be making my official visit to Missouri during their homecoming for the Iowa State game.  I will also be visiting Tennessee, and then I have in-home visits from Virginia and Virginia Tech, and I will sit down after those and my official visits to see if I want to take officials to those schools, or if I have my mind made up by then."

I asked Ryan about his recent unofficial visit to Missouri.

"I went up there with my whole family. My brother goes to school at Mizzou, so we all went up there and me and my family talked to Coach Haith and Coach Chew, and I saw some of the players I know like Marcus Denmon, Mike Dixon and Phil Pressey. My family also got to look around and meet Coach Haith's family and talk to Mike Alden. It was a real family atmosphere when we were there."

The Missouri basketball team could have a real family atmosphere should Rosburg sign with the Tigers.

"My brother is considering trying to walk-on to the basketball team when they have tryouts this year, said Rosburg. "We were joking around about it and he has mentioned it and is going to talk to the coaches about it. He is a 6'8" forward and plays on the club team now. I hope he does."

Despite narrowing his list of schools down to five, Ryan still wasn't sure about when a possible decision will be made.

"I really don't have a timeframe for when I will decide. I hope to make it before the start of my season and sign during the early signing period. I will just take my visits and if I feel the time is right, then I will decide then."

Rosburg said that it would be nice to play close to home, but that his family said that they would go to his games wherever he played. will continue to follow Ryan Rosburg's recruitment.
