Now that coaches can call recruits, ShowMeMizzou.com is checking in on some of Missouri's recruiting targets, to see how the Tigers' 2012 recruiting class is shaping up. One prospect who is on Missouri's radar, OT Raphael Green 6'5" 322 5.2 San Antonio (TX) Houston, has confirmed a scholarship offer to play football at Missouri. The big lineman filled us in on his recruitment.
"I talked on the phone to Coach Kul yesterday," said Green, speaking of Missouri assistant coach, Craig Kuligowski. "He wants me to come up on my official visit…………………………………… He's real cool! I like Coach Kul."
Green said that he would wait until after the season to take his official visits.
Ralphael Green is an excellent student, and told ShowMeMizzou.com that he's "at the top of my class." Green ran a 5.2 forty at the TCU camp this summer, and reports a 23" vertical jump, a maximum bench press of 365 pounds, and a maximum in the squat of 545 pounds. Green has dedicated himself to getting into better physical shape, and he has lost over 50 pounds since last season.
Green's Sam Houston team is off to a 3-0 start. He said that fellow teammates, and Missouri recruits, Javonte Magee and Leo Thomas, have both been very productive through the first two games. He also said that each of Magee and Thomas are still considering Missouri.
"Missouri is up there," said Green, describing his interest level in Missouri. "All of them are my first choice really, because they've all offered me a scholarship, and offered me a free education. But right now, Missouri is my first choice. If signing day was tomorrow, I'd sign with Missouri."
"I'm going to take my visits, and see," said Green, who plans to visit Missouri, Colorado, Michigan, New Mexico State, and Houston.
ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow the recruitment of Ralphael Green."
