JUCO Big Talks Weekend Missouri Visit

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with one of the basketball recruits who visited the University of Missouri this past weekend from the JUCO ranks and got the scoop on how things went and his interest level in the Tigers.

The Missouri Tigers continue their quest for some big men to help fill out their 2012 recruiting class and they have turned to the junior college ranks to look for some immediate help that will be needed for next season in the front court.

One of those JUCO players made his official visit to Missouri over the weekend and spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about his visit and where his recruitment is headed.

Chipola (FL) C.C. PF Jason Carter 6'8" 230 said that he has a Missouri offer and that he signed with Alabama originally out of high school in Houston (TX) but left Bama this past spring and is looking for a new four year school while he is at Chipola this year.

"It went real good," said Carter of his Missouri visit. "We ate a lot, hung out a lot…I really liked the players and the coaches. They are are all pretty cool and so are the players. We played some ball and I felt like I fit in pretty well with them. Their players are pretty good. They have some nice guards and some nice bigs on that team."

Carter also was impressed with the campus and facilities at Missouri.

"Everything was really nice. I like it all, especially the facilities, but what I liked most were the coaches and players. That's what stood out the most. I will definitely be considering them."

Carter said that Coach Haith is looking for him to play the power forward position should he choose the Tigers. He felt that his strengths as a player such as his rebounding, defense and ability to face up and shoot the ball would fit well with Frank Haith offense.

"Coach Haith talked about what he likes to do with his motion offense and how he uses his 4 in it, which would really work out well for me."

Carter, who is also considering LSU, Arkansas,West Virginia and Louisiana Tech, wasn't sure about where his next visit would be to. However, he does not appear to be in a rush to make a commitment or sign in the early signing period.

"I don't have any definite visits planned anytime soon, but it will be from among those schools I am considering. Right now I plan on waiting until the spring before I sign. So I have some time."

ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow Jason Carter's recruitment with the Tigers.
