Top 2014 In-State Recruit Enjoys Mizzou Visit

The Missouri Tigers are seeing a good number of top underclassmen taking in their early home games and we get some thoughts on the Tigers from the state top 2014 prospect after his recent unofficial visit there.

St. Louis (MO) DeSmet high school has been producing D1 prospects for many years now, including current Tigers Wes Kemp and Robert Steeples, along with one of the top prospects in the 2012 class in Durron Neal. So, it comes as no suprise that they continue to has D1 prospects among their underclassmen ranks.

The Missouri Tigers along with many other schools have identified another top tier recruit at DeSmet in 2014 OT Andy Bauer 6'5" 300lbs, who holds a Missouri offer along with one from Miami.

Bauer was among several talented underclassmen who attended last week's Western Illinois game and ShowMeMizzou.com got his thoughts on being at Mizzou.

"I had a great time at the game. I really like the Tigers," siad Bauer. "I hung out with Jack Kurzu and Brandon Minor almost the whole time, we are all good buddies."

Bauer is pleased with having an early offer from the Tigers.

"I am excited about the offer. I like Mizzou a lot. It is my home-town team and close to home. I have a good relationship with Coach Henson and Coach Ford," said Bauer

I asked Andy if there was anything new on the recruiting front besides the two early offers?

"There is nothing new really, just continuing to get letters from schools across the country," he said.

Bauer's team is currently 3-1 and Bauer has been a dominant blocker both in the run and in pass protection.

ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow his recruitment over the next few years.
