Checking In With Germain Ifedi

ShowMeMizzou.com checks in with one of Missouri's top 2012 recruits from the state of Texas to get an update on how his senior season is going and to get his thoughts on the Tigers as well.

During the bye week, ShowMeMizzou.com turns our attention toward recruiting, as we checked in on Missouri 2012 OL commit Germain Ifedi 6'6" 310 Houston (TX) Westside. He talked about how his senior season is going, and shares some of his thoughts about Mizzou.

Ifedi's Westside squad is 3-1 on the season, and 1-0 in Texas Class 5A Region III District 20 play. Ifedi plays left guard for the Wolves, and he said that he expects his team to do well in the playoffs.

"Everything is going pretty good," said Ifedi. "(Our team) is pretty good.  Hopefully we'll go pretty far in the playoffs."

Ifedi is solidly committed to Missouri, and is planning to take an official visit to Missouri after the season. Ifedi stays in touch with the other 2012 Missouri commits, including Evan Boehm, Simon Goines, Will Hines, and Jonathan Williams. He's looking forward to coming to Missouri next June.

"I'm looking forward to coming to Missouri next June," said Ifedi.

I asked Ifedi if all of the talk about conference realignment has him concerned?

"No. It doesn't really matter," replied Ifedi. "It doesn't really matter to me whether Missouri stays in the Big 12, or goes to the SEC.  Either one is okay with me.  I'm committed to Missouri either way."

Ifedi said that he receives occasional contact from other schools, but that he either doesn't take their calls, or he tells them that he's solidly committed to Missouri.
