Latest Mizzou Offer Talks Tigers

The Missouri Tigers have been evaluating prospects to add to their 2012 recruiting class in football and spoke with their most recent offer who transferred in to the Midwest this year.

The latest Missouri Tiger 2012 football offer is well traveled young man coming from a military family that has had him living in multiple states over the years.  Most recently he landed at O'Fallon (IL)  this past January after transferring  from Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia  to be with his Mom and Stepfather stationed at nearby Scott Air Force Base.

Originally from Texas, Ka'Ra Stewart 6'0" 190 ( 4.5 forty) picked up an offer from the Missouri Tigers on Tuesday. Despite being new to the area, the Mizzou football staff identified his talent and would like to have him join their program in 2012 spoke to Ka'Ra (pronounced Kay-Ruh) to get his thoughts on his first offer and the Missouri football program overall.

"I was shocked! Really shocked!" said Stewart. "I had been getting mail from a bunch of different schools, but I did not know this was coming. I was in my room and my coach called me and told me that Missouri was planning to offer me. It feels pretty good and I feel blessed to have this offer from Missouri. It being my first offer is big to me."

Stewart had spent most of his recent years on the East Coast, so I wondered how familiar he was with the Missouri program.

"I spoke with Coach Ford and most of what I know right now is what he has told me. But I know they are a good football team and a good school. I have always been interested in medicine and would ultimately like to be a pharmacist. I know they would be good for my major. The rest I plan on getting up there soon and seeing for myself. I plan to go up there not this weekend but next weekend for their game against Oklahoma State on an unofficial visit."

Stewart said that Missouri is recruiting him as a safety, but that he currently plays outside linebacker, safety, running back, wide receiver and kick off returner for the Panthers.

"Things have really gotten busy for me and I like it,"said Stewart. "I was just playing defense when I first started in the summer, but the coaches started using me at tailback and receiver, and then they asked me if I wanted to try returning kicks. My first couple of ones went for 96 and 88 yards so I got to continue doing it, but teams have been kicking away from me for the most part."

Since the Missouri offer more schools have been ringing Ka'ra's phone.

"I just heard from Indiana, Northern Illinois, Illinois, Illinois St. and some others this evening."

While he is excited by the Missouri offer, he plans to wait until his Mom gets back from being stationed in Afghanistan in early November before he starts thinking about making a decision on a school.

" I am going to definitely wait until my Mom gets back from her tour soon and talk things over with my parents before I would make a commitment to a school. Right now the plan is to check out Missouri and wait and see if any more schools offer and then pick what situation is best for me."

Stewart has recorded 6 touchdowns as a running back and kick returner while recording 24 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 fumble recoveries and 2 interceptions on defense in 2011.

He self reports a personal best in the forty of 4.5 and 9 reps of 225lbs in his bench press.

In track he competes in the triple jump, long jump and 200 meters. will continue to follow his recruitment.
