Big Target To Take In Mizzou Homecoming

The Missouri Tigers will have multiple football prospects in attendance to watch their homecoming football game against Iowa State, including the number one wide receiver prospect in the country. Find out the latest regarding his recruitment.

The number one receiver in the country, Dorial Green-Beckham 6'6" 220 4.45 Springfield (MO) Hillcrest will visit Missouri on Saturday for the Tigers' Homecoming game against Big 12 foe, Iowa State.

ShowMeMizzou.com caught up with Dorial's father, and high school coach, John Beckham, and he updated us on Green-Beckham's recruitment. DGB has narrowed his list of suitors to five schools, a list which Beckham assured me includes Missouri.

"I'd just assume if he's going to the Missouri game (on Saturday), that would probably make Mizzou one of the five," said Beckham, who earlier had told me that Missouri would be in it until the end for Green-Beckham.

While the Beckhams are unwilling to name those five schools, each of the five school knows that they are on that list, as those are the schools with whom Green-Beckham continues to have dialogue, in the form of weekly phone calls. This is consistent with the approach that Beckham had outlined for his son, when he spoke to ShowMeMizzou.com last spring.

Their plan is for Dorial's recruitment to remain a back-burner issue for them until after their season, at which time Green-Beckham will take his official visits, and eventually come to a decision. The relative secrecy regarding Green-Beckham's school choice is an attempt by the Beckhams to keep a lid on all of the hysteria surrounding Dorial's recruitment.

"We'll worry about recruiting when the season's over,"  said Beckham.  "Once the season's over, we'll go from there.  We're just trying to keep things as quiet as we can."
