Thus far, there's been an emphasis on big men, and this week, the Tigers signed four big men and a defensive-minded shooting guard for 2012.
Included among Coach Haith's first signing class are PF Stefan Jankovic 6'10" 215 Huntington (WV) Prep, who is excited about playing his senior season on one of the best teams in the country, and then arriving at Missouri in June. Jankovic spoke to ShowMeMizzou.com following having signed his Letter of Intent.
"I'm really excited," said Jankovic. "And, it's a relief. Excited-relief, if that's a word. I'm happy it's over with, and now I can focus on my senior season. Now, it's official, and I'm just excited…………………………………………. As soon as high school season's over, I can focus on getting down to Missouri, and getting started there."
Jankovic plans to arrive at Missouri in June.
A junior college player, originally from Oklahoma City, PF Tony Criswell 6'9" 230 Independence (KS) C.C. , has signed a Letter of Intent to play at Missouri. Criswell has recently taken a temporary break from basketball at ICC to focus on his academic progress, and he said that he expects to be back on the court soon. He's planning to graduate in May, and to begin taking classes at Missouri in June.
"It's like a big weight off of my shoulders," said Criswell. "I'm really excited to keep getting better, and to get up there to (Missouri)."
Also signing with Missouri this week was SF Negus Webster-Chan 6'7" Huntington (WV) Prep. He and Jankovic are teammates, and he too, plans to arrive at Missouri in June.
"To be officially a (Missouri) Tiger feels good," said Webster-Chan. "But, it's going to feel better when I get on campus……………………………….. We've got a great (signing) class!"
C/PF Ryan Rosburg 6'10" 250 Chesterfield (MO) Marquette
"I grew up a Mizzou fan and always dreamed of being able to play basketball at the University of Missouri my whole life, so this is a dream come true to sign with with them," said Rosburg.
A SG from Worcester (MA), Dominique Bull 6'4" 230 The Tilton School also signed with Missouri this week.
"I'm just happy to become a Missouri Tiger," said Bull, who plans to arrive at Missouri in June. "It's a good feeling. I'm happy to be a part of the family."
Coach Haith appeared to be pleased with his signing class, as well.
"We're excited about our recruiting class," said Coach Haith. "We have a good class……………………………………… I think this is a class that our Missouri folks will be pleased with."
