The saying goes that recruiting never stops. This is true, including even after a player may have made a commitment to another school months earlier.
The Missouri Tigers have felt this recently with a couple of recent defections from commitments made earlier in the year from prospects, and now there is the possibility that they may benefit from a player committed to another school who is keeping their options open and looking at the Tigers.
Angleton (TX) is a place familiar to Mizzou fans due to the success of star running back Henry Josey. The Tiger coaches are hoping to catch lightning in a bottle twice it appears with the recruitment of Angleton Athlete Ryan Jackson 5'11" 185 4.4 forty, who is also a track standout running a 10.7 in the 100 meters and long jumping over 23 feet.
Jackson, who plays running back and cornerback at Angleton, is committed to Houston since making a verbal back in May to attend there. ShowMeMizzou.com caught up with the Texas speedster to get the latest with his recruitment and find out if Missouri may be in the mix with him.
" I am still committed to Houston, but I am keeping my options open," said Jackson. " Missouri is a school I am looking at along with Utah still. Both have offered and I will be visiting Utah the second week in January, and I plan to visit Missouri sometime after we win the state championship. I don't have a date set up yet."
Jackson, who has rushed for almost 1,600 yards and 20 TDs while catching 22 passes for 288 yards for 7 more touchdowns and returned two kick offs for TDs, has been paying close attention to the Tigers and has liked what he has seen from them.
"I was familiar with them because of Henry (Josey) and all. The move to the SEC is nice and means better competition. I have been watching them lately, and I have been liking them more the more I watch them,"said Jackson.
Ryan wants to study business in college, and said that each school has a different idea of where they would like him to play on the field.
"Missouri said I can start wherever I want but likes me as a slot receiver. The same position that T.J. Moe plays…………….which I like a lot. Utah wants me to run the ball. Houston wants me at running back but also said I can choose where I want to play."
Jackson isn't certain when he will know where his final destination will be.
"I like Houston but I just wanna make sure I am making the right decision for me, so I will look at all my options and then go where the best place is for me."
