"We're excited about getting back to work, and getting better," began Coach Haith, as his team prepared to practice.
"I think our defense has been very good," said Coach Haith. "Overall on the year, we're holding teams under 40% field goal percentage shooting, and we're turning teams over at a high rate."
"This group of guys love playing the game," said Coach Haith, talking about the team that he's inherited.
Coach Haith said that he doesn't expect to continue to win every game by such large margins. He said that they work on late-game situations every day in practice so that his team will be ready when they get into a close game.
He said that he wasn't surprised that his team is playing well, but he did say that he was surprised by the margin of victory over two good teams in Kansas City.
Senior big man Steve Moore said that the Tigers are better prepared than in the past.
"I feel like we're better prepared," said Moore. "We have a game plan. We kind of have an edge on what the other team is going to do."
Coach Haith emphasized that they take a "next game" approach to the season, and that they don't look ahead beyond the next game.
Senior guard Marcus Denmon said that the team is having fun playing basketball.
"Winning is always fun," said Denmon. "Especially, being able to come out and win the way that we have. We're doing what we love to do every day."
