The Missouri Tigers continue to beat the bushes for top flight prospects to recruit and possibly add to the team either for this year or the future.
A prospect they are familiar with who has flown under the radar a little bit this season is Raytown (MO) WR/ATH Justus McMullen 6'3" 215 4.46 35" vertical jump.
McMullen had an outstanding camp with Missouri the summer before his junior season and was off to a fast start playing QB for his Raytown Bluejays before suffering a season ending injury a few games into the year. After recovering from his injury, McMullen found himself playing WR his senior season.
ShowMeMizzou.com caught up with Justus, who had taken an unofficial visit to Missouri for the Texas Tech game, and he filled us in about his recruitment and where Missouri might fit in.
"I went to the game with Terrance Hill and it was a good experience. It was a good game ,"said McMullen. "Missouri is a good program and basically Missouri has stayed in contact and is looking at me. I still have some school work to do to be qualified, but they had also mentioned about me going JUCO before college if that doesn't happen and then coming there."
While McMullen likes Missouri he isn't excited about the possibility of going the JUCO route.
McMullen, who reported a 305lbs bench press and 435lbs squat hopes that he gets the chance to play D1 and thinks it is still possible.
" I think I am close. Hopefully it works out. Mizzou would be a good school to go to."
At this point he looks like a prospect for the Tigers a couple of years down the road should he go the JUCO route.
ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow Justus McMullen's recruitment and provide updates.
