Antoine Talks About Interest In Missouri

The Missouri Tigers are looking to add some quality defensive prospects to this year's 2012 recruiting class as the busy season in recruiting heats up. gets one prospects thoughts on the Tigers including a possible visit.

With Dan Mullen being considered for the vacant Penn State job, Mississippi State commit Quadry Antoine  6'0"  215  4.5  is being pro-active and considering his options. spoke to the 2012 safety prospect, and he talked about his recruitment.

"I talked with (Missouri), but we haven't really set up an official visit yet,"  said Antoine.  "Mizzou, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Minnesota, and FIU are the schools where I'm going to take an official visit."

Antoine has an official visit scheduled for Mississippi State for January 20.  He said that he's still a "solid verbal commit" to Mississippi State, and that if Coach Mullen remains in Starkville, he'll likely sign with the Bulldogs.  If Coach Mullen takes another job, Antoine said that he might go ahead and sign somewhere else.

"I'm just going to wait everything out until February,"  explained Antoine, who doesn't have any other visits scheduled at this time.

Antoine reports a 36" vertical jump, a 4.3 shuttle, and personal bests of 275 pounds in the bench press, 330 pounds in the hang clean, and 415 pounds in the squat.

I asked Antoine what is it about Missouri that makes the Tigers of interest to him?

"They went to the SEC,"   replied the physical, hard-hitting safety.  "That's a big thing.  Growing up in Louisiana, it's pretty much growing up in the SEC.  I've always wanted to play in the SEC.  I just like (Missouri's) style of football, and what they are capable of doing."
