New Offer Coming In For Visit This Weekend

The Missouri Tigers appear to be in the mix for one of the biggest sleeper prospects in the 2012 class, and will be getting an official visit this weekend from the new offer, as they continue their talent for finding top under the radar prospects.

On what will be the biggest weekend of recruiting for the Missouri Tigers football team, as they host more then 20 prospect on campus, one of the more interesting to be making their official visit will be a big time sleeper prospect from Arizona.

ShowMeMizzou.com has learned that Scottsdale (AZ) Chaparral 2012 DE Dylan Cozens 6'5".5 240lbs (4.6 forty) has picked up a Missouri offer and will be making his official visit this weekend.

We spoke to Cozens to get his thoughts on Missouri and his whirlwind recruitment.

"Recruiting is going great!," said Cozens. "I just made my official visit to Boise State last weekend, and I am officially visiting Missouri this weekend. I got an offer from them recently, and I also have offers from Washington, Utah, Indiana,Florida International and Northern Arizona."

Cozens seemed to be pretty familiar with the Missouri football program when I asked him about them.

" They are a great school. They saw my film ands said they would really like me to come up and visit. I know they are joining the SEC which is big. They were 7-5 this season, but they have been consistently one of the programs with the most wins over the last 7-8 years. I like coach Odom and the rest I will find out on my visit."

I asked Dylan, who said he had around 10 sacks his senior season, the same question about the other schools he will be visiting.

Boise State- "I like it a lot. It's a good program and I had a good visit."

Utah- "A good school. They said I have a lot of potential. That I am raw but they like me."

Washington- "I like them. Pretty much the same as the other schools. Everything is pretty much even."

Cozens is an interesting story in that this was his first year of playing football. Something that has not seemed to deter big time programs from pursuing him.

" I played Pop Warner football when I was little, but I was a baseball player in high school. This was my first year playing. I transferred schools and my coach saw me and talked me into coming out for the team. I had an awesome time and I am very thankful that he talked me into it…….It was a lot of fun and now I will get to play in college," said Cozens.

Cozens described his strengths as his speed and rushing the passer. He has a great size and speed combination being 240lbs at almost 6-foot-6 and great athleticism being able to vertical jump 36 inches. He also has good strength bench pressing 280lbs and squatting 400lbs.

He talked about what he was looking for in a school that would be the one he picked.

" I am looking for a place that I feel at home and were I feel comfortable. A good program and good school. I want to major in communications. Distance isn't a factor. My Dad told me tonight to pick wherever I want, that it would be totally my decision."

And as far as a timetable for making a decision?

"I want to take my visits and see what every school is like and then I will probably decide."

ShowMeMizzou.com will follow Dylan Cozens' recruitment and update you on it.
