On Saturday (4:00 P.M., MSN), the #10 Missouri Tigers (8-0) play host to the Navy Midshipmen (3-7).  Navy comes in off of a 67-69 home loss to Monmouth.  Navy has lost their last three contests, following their best win this season, a 64-56 home win over Mount St. Mary's.

A 6'7" sophomore forward, J.J. Avila, leads Navy with 13.4 points/game and 6.2 rebounds/game.   Avila is not only the Midshipmen's best player, he's also their biggest.  First-year Head Coach, Ed DeChellis, has a large roster, including 6'3" senior guard, Jordan Sugars, who is scoring 10.8 points/game.  But, the problem facing Coach DeChellis is in finding five players from among that number who can match up with the talented Missouri squad.

First-year Missouri coach, Frank Haith, inherited a much better roster, including senior guard Marcus Denmon, who spent the latter part of the summer playing for Team USA, in the World University Games, and who is leading the Tigers in scoring, with 21.3 points/game.

Denmon leads a Missouri squad that currently features four double-digit scorers.  As a team, the Tigers are making 51% of the field goal attempts, assisting on 57% of their made baskets, outrebounding their opponents, and causing 17.1 turnovers/game by their opponents, including coming up with over 10 steals/game.

One of Missouri's double-digit scorers, Ricardo Ratliffe, is making 77% of his FGAs, which currently ranks second in the NCAA.

Sophomore PG Phil (Flip) Pressey is averaging 5.8 assists and 2.6 steals per game, while maintaining a 2.7 assist-to-turnover ratio.
