Under Armour Was Eye Opener For Boehm

Following his participation in the recent Under Armour All-American game, Lee's Summit West and 2012 Missouri Tiger football commit, Evan Boehm, talked to ShowMeMizzou.com about his experience there.

Following his participation in the Under Armour All-American Game, 2012 guard prospect  Evan Boehm  6'3"  291  5.1  Lee's Summit (MO) West took time to visit with ShowMeMizzou.com, and he talked about his time in Orlando.

"It was a whole new experience,"  said Boehm, speaking of the Under Armour All-American event.  "It was an eye-opener.  It was a lot of fun!  I had a great time!  And, I met a lot of new people.  Most of the kids down there (playing in the Under Armour All American Game) were SEC kids."

Boehm more than held his own during the practices, the drills, and during the game.  One of the players that Boehm went up against was a former Missouri commit Donald Hopkins.

"It was a lot of fun (going against Hopkins),"  explained Boehm.  "We were talking some smack sometimes when we got up to the line.  But after the play, we would always high five each other, and say, "MIZ", or say, "ZOU"  back.  Something like that.  It was a lot of fun!"

Back home in the Kansas City metro area, Boehm is turning his attention to the pursuit of another state wrestling crown.  Boehm weighed 302 last week in Florida, but has to get down to 285 in order to wrestle in the heavyweight division in Missouri.  On Sunday, he told me that he intends to make weight and wrestle on Tuesday.  He said that he still has to cut another 6 pounds.

Boehm is really looking forward to coming to Missouri in June and getting started on his college football career.  He talked about having to regain the weight that he's shedding for wrestling season.

"I want to (build) more muscle,"  said Boehm.
