Beisel is awaiting his first offer, but reports receiving recruiting interest from several schools. He listed Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Ohio State as among schools that are currently recruiting him. Missouri's Cornell Ford has been by Rockwood-Summit to check on Beisel, and to invite the linebacker prospect to Missouri's Junior Day.
Earlier this off-season, Beisel set personal bests in multiple categories in the weight room. He reports personal bests, with a 360-pound maximum bench press, 470-pound squat, and a 305-pound clean. He told me that he has been timed at 4.51 in the forty, but that was at a lower weight than he presently carries.
Beisel made 128 tackles last season. He likely projects as a middle linebacker at the collegiate level. He enjoys being physical on the football field.
Beisel is a pitcher-outfielder for Rockwood-Summit's baseball team.
Beisel said that he will likely attend Missouri's Junior Day. He said that he doesn't have a favorite, but that his interest-level varies with different schools. He named Missouri, Alabama, Nebraska, and Notre Dame as his "top four". It's early, and things could change when the offers begin to roll in.
"It's pretty exciting," said Beisel, talking about the prospect of playing for Missouri. "And, the idea of playing in the SEC is very positive."
