Mizzou Junior Day: Ezekiel Elliott

Top Missouri 2013 football prospect and Mizzou legacy Ezekiel Elliott talks about his Tiger junior day visit and getting an offer from the school both his parents attended and he could possibly attend.

St. Louis Burroughs running back and Missouri legacy Ezekiel Elliott made the first of two junior day visits for the weekend to the the school both his parents attended in college, the University of Missouri on Saturday.

Elliott told ShowMeMizzou.com when he received his offer from the Tigers on Saturday, but we caught up from him leaving Ohio State, his second junior day visit which he also received an offer from, to get his thoughts on being offered by Mizzou.

"It was a great visit,"said Elliott regarding Missouri's junior day. "I had a really good visit with Coach Pinkel and he offered me. I got to talk to some other Missouri coaches like Coach Yost and Coach Jones, and we saw the facilities and saw a good basketball game where the Tigers beat Baylor. It was great!"

Elliott was excited to get the home state school offer, but his parents might have been even more excited then he was.

"It's special to have an offer from Missouri. I grew up a fan and have gone to games and every spring game my family comes up here. I like the coaches and football program. My parents were really happy. Both are Mizzou alums and like the thought of me possibly playing there," said Elliott, who also said it was fun to see a lot of familir friends such as Brandon Minor, Jack Kurzu, and Aarion Penton up there for junior day.

Ezekiel told me that it will not be his last trip to Missouri.

"I plan on going back there soon. I will be up over spring football, and like I said, we always attend the Black & Gold game. I want to get to know Coach Jones, the running backs coach, a lot better."

The St. Louis running back isn't done with his junior day visit tour. He will be on the road the next three weekends at Nebraska, Illinois and Arkansas. He also feels that a few more schools are close to extending him offers.

"I would say that UCLA and Michigan State are probably going to offer soon based on what they say,"he said.
