Mizzou Junior Day: Jamone Boyd

The Missouri Tigers are looking for not one, but two Lee's Summit West Titans to bring to Columbia (MO) to be part of their 2013 recruiting class. We get the scoop on DL Jamone Boyd's recruitment.

ShowMeMizzou.com has taken notice of and reported on 2013 DL prospect Jamone Boyd  6'4"  250  4.76  Lee's Summit (MO) West at the Missouri camps the last couple of years.  Now, Boyd has received a Missouri offer, and is hearing from other schools, as well.

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Boyd's high-school coach, Royce Boehm, and he gave us the skinny on Boyd.

"Boyd's one of those kids that you can put wherever on the field,"  explained Coach Boehm, who confirmed that Missouri is Boyd's first offer.  "Because, he's so strong!"

"Jamone Boyd has a heck of an engine,"  said Coach Boehm.  "He's a specimen!  He's going to play inside for us, but I don't know where he'll play in college."

Coach Boehm said that there's a lot of interest in Boyd from a number of schools, including Arkansas, Kansas, Kansas State, and Notre Dame.

"He just starting playing football last year,"  said Coach Boehm, referring to Boyd.  "His first time playing football was his sophomore year.  He's a little green, but he's learning fast."

I asked Coach Boehm if he has a read on Boyd's interest in Missouri?

"I talked with Jamone's family, and they're all fired up about Missouri,"  explained Coach Boehm.  "Both Jamone (Boyd) and (Nick Ramirez) are very interested in Missouri.  And, they're both good friends with Evan (Boehm)."
