Is A Mizzou Offer Coming His Way?

While the Missouri Tigers hosted a large group of 2013 football prospects on Saturday for their junior day event, they had a top prospect come in for an unofficial visit on Sunday who could see an offer come his way soon.

While the Missouri Tigers hosted over 40 potential recruits on Saturday for their junior day event, on Sunday they had some other unofficial visitors come to town who were unable to make it due to previous commitments to junior day events at other schools.

One of those who attended was Kansas City (MO) Rockhurst  OG/DT Zach Hannon 6'4" 294 (5.1 forty-28" vertical jump_4.6 shuttle), who was attending Arkansas' junior day event on Saturday, but wanted to make sure to check out the Tigers, who he is also getting recruited by.

Hannon already has an offer from Arkansas, so I asked him how they visit went?

"Both visits were great," said Hannon, referencing both schools he saw over the weekend. "Arkansas was extremely attractive for both football and academics. I was very impressed. They want me to commit soon but I am gonna wait a little bit to weigh my options."

And his thoughts on Missouri after the unofficial on Sunday?

"Missouri was great also. I grew up loving Missouri, and they were talking about potentially offering me. I would be extremely interested if they do. They said they probably will offer me and Joe Gibson soon,"said Hannon.

Gibson is a 6'3" 275lbs offensive lineman who plays next to Hannon at right guard for the Rockhurst Hawklets. More on him later.

Zach talked about the rest of the visit, and what the Tiger coaches had to say about where they would see him in their plans should he become a Tiger.

"We talked to Coach Hill and Coach Walker and Coach Henson, and they said they want me at guard and Joe at center to keep us together. They want us to come down for spring practice and a spring game," said Hannon.

Hannon told me that he and Gibson are good friends and that it would be "cool" to play next to him in college as he has in high school.

Besides Missouri and Kansas, Zach told me that he is also hearing from Notre Dame, Kansas State and Kansas.

"Coach Weis invited me to meet with him at KU on Wednesday or Thursday."

Hannon, who bench presses 365lbs and also plays for the Rockhurst Lacrosse team, tells me that schools have been impressed with his footwork for his size, and that some have suggested possibly moving him to defensive tackle.
