Second Rockhurst Lineman Could Get Offer

The Missouri Tigers extended a verbal offer yesterday to one top flight offensive lineman from the legendary Kansas City high school after a recent unofficial visit. Could a second one not be far behind?

ShowMeMizzou.com reported the other day that several Kansas City (MO) Rockhurst 2013 players made an unofficial visit to Missouri on Sunday along with recent Tiger offer Zach Hannon.

One of those also on the visit was 2013 Rockhurst OC/OG Joe Gibson 6'3" 270 (5.1 forty), who had been at the Kansas junior day event the day before.

We spoke with Gibson to get his thoughts on both visits, and more specifically, the time he spent at Mizzou.

"Both were great times to get to see the schools, look at the facilites and meet the coaches," said Gibson. ‘ The Kansas coaches told me that they would be in touch. The Missouri coaches told me that they see me as a center due to my height, but that they like my athleticism and technique, and think I would make a good center and want to keep me and Zach (Hannon) together playing next to each other at Mizzou."

So was an offer extended?

"No, not yet. They want to look at my highlight film, which I am sending to them on Thursday. I didn't quite have it done before I went on the junior day visits, but they (Missouri) said that an offer could be coming soon. Maybe in a couple of weeks from now,"said Gibson.

The athletic Gibson also plays basketball for Rockhurst in their front court. Something that he thinks helps with his foot work on the football field.

Gibson said that besides Missouri and Kansas, that Kansas State and Northern Illinois were schools he was also getting recruiting by, and that he thought he would be taking a junior day visit to K-State.

ShowMeMizzou.com will keep you updated on his recruitment.
