A year after Missouri signed the number one WR prospect in the country in Dorial Green-Beckham, the Tigers are looking to add to their receiver corp. 2013 WR prospect Fred Ross 6'1" 190 4.48 Tyler (TX), told ShowMeMizzou.com that he has a Missouri offer, and the receiver from East Texas talked about where his recruitment currently stands.
Ross, who is being recruited by a number of schools as an outside receiver, told ShowMeMizzou.com that his high school coach, Will Compton, informed him that he has an offer from Missouri, to go along with an ever-growing list of offers from schools, including Baylor, Memphis, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Rice, Texas Tech, and West Virginia.
Ross, who reports a 35" vertical, and identified "yards after catch" as one of his strengths, would like to visit Missouri, but he said that he's not sure when that trip will take place. He's already taken unofficial visits to Baylor, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech. He came away from Stillwater with an early favorite.
"My leader is Oklahoma State," said Ross, who included Missouri, Arkansas, Baylor, and Texas Tech as other schools that he is considering.
I asked Ross about his criteria for choosing a school?
"First off, academics outweighs everything," explained Ross. "Then, (it would be the) facilities, and the vibe from the coaches and the players, and just the feel of a (particular school)."
