The Missouri Tigers have reached into the Dallas metro area to a extend scholarship offer to 2013 DT prospect Dimarya Mixon  6'3"  250  4.9   Mesquite (TX)  West Mesquite.

West Mesquite assistant coach, Kyle Ward, recently informed Mixon that Missouri has offered the talented defensive lineman.

Mixon spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about the offer.

"My coach just told me about the Missouri offer a couple of days ago,"  said Mixon.   "Missouri's the first to offer me."

Mixon moved to Mesquite from California last June.   He's also hearing from Baylor, Texas Tech, and TCU, among others.

Mixon doesn't have a current favorite.

"I'm pretty much wide open right now,"   explained Mixon.   "I would definitely like to come to see Missouri.  I might have to wait until I can take an official visit."

Mixon is a player who has moved around on the defensive line, playing inside and outside.  He said that his coaches tell him that he needs to gain weight to play at the next level.

"I'm in the weight room pretty much three times a week,"  said Mixon.   "That's kind of new to me."

Mixon said that he doesn't know much about Missouri, but that he's starting to learn more about the school and the team.

"I've seen Missouri play a couple of times on T.V.,"  explained Mixon, who is a very good student, and plans to learn more about Missouri in the coming weeks.
