ShowMeNext 2013: Lineman Gets Mizzou Offer

The state of Missouri is producing a solid number of quality offensive lineman for the class of 2013. One of those top prospects just received and offer from the home state Missouri Tigers.

It has been a busy couple of weeks for one of the state of Missouri's top football recruits. On the 18th he particpated at the Elite Football Combine where he displayed the athleticism and talent that D1 colleges look for, especially in a 6'7" 260lbs package. He tested very well among all the linemen attending.

Then last weekend he attended Kansas State's junior day event where he was one of five recruits kept after and talked to about a possible offer.

Then tonight, Francis Howell (MO) LT Harnett Gill is making an unofficial visit to the University of Missouri, and while on that visit he was offered by the Tigers.

Mizzou offered me!," said Gill in a text message to"It feels great to have my first D1 offer. I was brought to Coach Pinkel's office and he told me the news!"

Gill also said that he went on a tour of the campus and met with his recruiting and position coaches, and then later to Coach Pinkel's office where he found out about the offer.

I spoke with Harneet earlier this week about his recruitment, and at the time he filled me in about the Tigers recruitment of him.

"Missouri had been sending me stuff in the mail, but I hadn;t really talked to them until last Wednesday when I spoke with Coach Henson,"said Gill about the Tigers interest in him. "We talked for awhile and and he said they liked my film and wanted me to come down for an offensive line junior day/ unofficial visit this week. They asked what I would think of playing in the SEC and at Mizzou. It was a good conversation."

Gill shared his thoughts on Missouri and a possible offer with me at that time.

Mizzou is a great school! Great football program. What could be better then playing for your home team in fornt of your family and fans. Their fans are great. I also really like coach Henson, he said then.

When asked tonight by text he echoed those thoughts again, saying, " Mizzou is a great school, coaching staff and program."

When I asked him about possibly committing, he responded, "I'm going to give it some time."

Earlier in the week, Harneet spoke about his K-State visit and how he enjoyed it.

"It went really good," said Gill about his K-State junior day visit. "K-State has nice facilities, is a great program and they stressed family and family atmosphere, which I liked. I liked the coaches and got to meet Coach Snyder. They talked about possibly offering me, but said they were going to wait and see what Mizzou did first. I am suppose to talk to them after my Missouri visit."

Gill was a first team All-State offensive lineman in Class 6 in 2011.

Harneet tells me that he is planning on spring visits to Wisconsin, Illinois, Northern Illinois and possibly Iowa. will keep you updated with his recruitment.
