The Missouri Tigers have received a National Letter of Intent from 2012 safety prospect, Chaston Cuffee 6'2" 190 4.48 Cleburne (TX). Cuffee informed ShowMeMizzou.com that he faxed his signed Letter of Intent into the Missouri staff on National Signing Day.
"I'm very excited to get started at Missouri," said Cuffee, who chose Missouri over offers from North Texas, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech, among others, and who plans to matriculate to Missouri in June.
Chaston Cuffee is a high-level athlete who was a dual-threat quarterback for Coach Phil Young, and who served as team captain his senior year, and earned team MVP honors as a junior and as a senior.
Cuffee is a multi-sport athlete who lettered in basketball, baseball, and track, in addition to football. His parents are Rodney and Eva Johnson.
Missouri Assistant Coach Josh Henson was the primary recruiter on Chaston Cuffee.
"He has great size for the safety position, and he's athletic, and he can really run," said Coach Henson. "He has the frame to have great physicality to him."
Missouri Assistant Coach Alex Grinch talked about Cuffee.
"Cuffee is a great kid! He has a good body type," said Coach Grinch. "If you were drawing up a safety, with his athleticism and his size, that's what you're drawing up."
