The Missouri Tigers have been on a tremendous roll receiving commitments from some of the top in-state prospects for the class of 2013. Tonight they picked up another of the very best the state has to offer...

The Missouri Tigers continue their hot streak of getting home grown talent with their 6th verbal commtiment from an in-state prospect.

Francis Howell 2013 OT Harneet Gill 6'7" 260lbs (4.9 forty) informed ShowMeMizzou.com moments ago that he has pledged to play football at the University of Missouri.

"I just committed to Mizzou,"said Gill regarding his college decision. "I just got off the phone with Coach Henson and Coach Pinkel. I told Coach Henson that I had been thinking about it, and that I am a Tiger! I think I caught them off guard, but they were really excited, which made me feel really good."

I asked Harneet about his decision, and it coming so quickly after picking up his Tiger offer.

"This whole week I have been thinking about it, and I decided, what am I waiting for? I can play for my home town team, for my home state at a school that has everything I could ever want. This is my dream school that has offered me, so why wait? There are no other schools out there that I am waiting on. I mean, if USC came and offered, I would still pick Mizzou. I get the chance to play in the SEC, in the best conference and against the best competition in front of my family and home state. Nothing could be better," said Gill

Harneet also relayed a story that helped play into his making his decision tonight.

Coach Clark from Northern Iowa called me tonight and offered me. He then asked me if I had any other offers and I told him about my offer from Missouri, and he said Mizzou is a great school and what was I waiting for. I realized he was right."

Gill said that the Tiger coaches talked about him red-shirt his freshman year and competing as a red-shirt freshman and sophomore for playing time.

He also said that he hopes to bring a few friends with him to Columbia.

"I am going to try and get Zach Hannon and Clay Rhodes to come join me at Mizzou," reffering to players he has become friends with from unofficial visits and the Elite Combine.

Up next for Harneet Gill is a Nike combine on March 16th. He becomes Missouri's 6th known commitment.
