"I really like Missouri," explained Lacouture, who also reports offers from Baylor, LSU, Michigan, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Utah, in addition to Missouri. "I've talked to the defensive line coach there, Coach Kuligowski, and to Coach Henson. I really like what they're doing there."
Lacouture is originally from Boston, where his family is well-known in hockey circles.
He has been doing some recent testing, and he reported a 28" vertical jump, to go along with a 4.2 shuttle time, and personal bests in the weight room of 355 pounds in the bench press, 460-pound squat, and 280-pound power clean.
Lacouture is planning an unofficial visit to Missouri during March. He said that he has developed a good rapport with the Missouri staff, including Coaches Henson, Kuligowski, and Steckel.
"I'm going to take a visit to Missouri," said Lacouture, who said that he has narrowed his list of schools to include Texas A&M, LSU, Michigan, and Missouri, "I'm really looking forward to it. I've talked to Coach Henson since my sophomore year. As time has progressed, I've been building a relationship with Coach Kul, who would be my position coach."
"I really like Coach Kul," continued Lacouture. "He puts guys in the NFL. One thing I really like about him, is he's been there. He's going into his twelfth year there with Coach Pinkel."
Lacouture is a good student who plans to graduate from high school next December, and begin college in January.
