Top Defensive Back To Visit Missouri

The Missouri Tigers have been very selctive regarding who they have been targeting and extending early offers to for the 2013 recruiting class. ShowMeMizzou.com talks with a top defensive back target who shares his thoughts on his Tiger offer and plans to visit.

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2012 safety prospect Jayme Thompson 6'2" 188 4.48 Toledo (OH) Central Catholic, who confirmed that he has a Missouri offer and then talked about his recruitment.

"I was extremely excited to receive the Missouri offer,"  said Thompson.   "I'm actually committed to West Virginia.  I got the Missouri offer after I committed to West Virginia.  But, I'm still really excited about it, because there's so many coaching changes that I really don't count any schools out, because anything could happen in a year."

Thompson reports scholarship offers from Illinois, Nebraska, Notre Dame, and Vanderbilt, in addition to Missouri and West Virginia, among others.   He also mentioned that Alabama is coming to take a look at him.

Thompson said that he posted a 33" vertical jump, 9'10" broad jump, and 4.0-second shuttle in recent testing.

Alex Grinch is Thompson's primary recruiter for the Tigers.  Thompson said that Missouri is planning to sign just one safety in this class.

"I like it that they are from Ohio,"  said Thompson, referring to Missouri Head Coach Gary Pinkel and several members of his staff.

Thompson and his father are planning an unofficial visit to Missouri during the spring.
