Massive Lineman Looking To Visit Mizzou

The Missouri Tigers hosted one of the top offensive line prospects from the West region in the 2013 class at one of their one day camps last June. Both seem to have interest and it looks like a possible visit could be in the works.

Last June, reported on 2013 OT prospect Dan Skipper  6'10"  280  Arvada (CO)  Ralston Valley, after seeing him at Missouri's one day camp in the Kansas City area.  Skipper was spending the summer of 2011 playing on a Kansas City based baseball team.

Now, Skipper is pitching and playing first base for his high school team, but he says that he's going to focus more on football this year.

Skipper reports scholarship offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Colorado State, Duke, Oregon State, Utah, Vanderbilt, and Wyoming.  He's hearing frequently from Missouri, although Missouri has yet to offer.

"I've been talking quite a bit with Coach Walker,"  explained Skipper.   "He's telling me that they want me to come in for a visit.  I got a letter from Coach Pinkel telling me to come to Missouri for a visit."

I asked Skipper if he's been able to narrow things down in his recruitment?

"It's still early,"  replied Skipper, who said that he definitely wants to visit Missouri, but he doesn't yet have a visit date established.  "Hopefully, (I'll visit Missouri) either sometime this spring, or early summer.  We'll see how it works with baseball."

Skipper said that he's going to try to put on some size this summer, and gain some strength.   He reiterated that while he's still playing baseball, he does realize that playing football is in his future.

"I'm not even close to a decision (about which school I'll attend),"  explained Skipper.  "It doesn't really matter when you get offered, because when you show up in early June, it doesn't matter if you were offered your freshman year, or if you were offered the night before you signed.  Once you're there, you're there, and everyone starts out the same."
