In-State Lineman Checks Out Tigers

The Missouri Tigers are addressing a major need for their 2013 recruiting class by evalauting and searching for some quality lineman to add to both sides of the ball on offense and defense. We introduce you to a recent in-state talent. spoke to one of the many unofficial visitors to Missouri during the spring in 2013 OL prospect Austin Boice  6'6"  280  Lamar (MO). 

Boice was checking out the Tigers, who are also checking him out. 

"My visit to Missouri was pretty neat, to say the least,"  said Boice.  "Those facilities, I've never seen anything like that before!  All of that new equipment, all of the attention that they paid, even having the academic center, I've never seen anything like that."

According to Boice's high school coach, Missouri Assistant Josh Henson has expressed an interest in Boice, as well as other members of his squad.

Boice is a two-way player at Lamar and is an outstanding student.  He plays right tackle on offense, and he plays some defensive tackle on the defensive side of the football.  He was named First-Team All-State. 

In the weight room, Boice reports a personal best of 275 pounds in the bench press, 275 pounds in the power clean, and 420 pounds in the squat.

Boice is also hearing from a number of other schools, including Arkansas, Kansas, and Tulsa.  He's waiting on his first offer, and he is planning to take unofficial visits to all three of the schools named.

Boice said that he doesn't have a favorite, and he plans to camp with some of the schools mentioned.

Boice is also an outstanding student, who carries a 4.0 GPA, and has scored a 34 on his ACT.
