Tigers Get Commitment From Top 2014 Prospect

The Missouri Tigers had a big day recruiting by picking up a verbal pledge from the top prospect in the state for the class of 2014 while on an unofficial visit today.

While recruiting for the class of 2013 is kicking into high gear, the Missouri Tigers have managed to pull off a major recruiting get for 2014 by landing the top prospect in the state, and an elite recruit who is a likely top 100 player nationally.

DeSmet OT Andy Bauer 6'5" 295 has verbally committed to play football at Mizzou.

"I committed to Coach Pinkel today. I am a Tiger,"said Bauer when we spoke a little bit ago." I was here on Thursday with my Dad at practice, and on Thursday night I knew I wanted to be a Tiger and wanted to commit. I just needed my Mom to come up with me and see everything. I had planned on committing today with my whole family here with me."

Bauer said the decision wasn't a hard one to make, but he still looked at other schools to help him with his decision.

" I took some visits to the schools who had offered me like Ohio State, Notre Dame, Auburn, Michigan and others, but nothing could compare to Mizzou. It just feels like home to me and I love. That's why I am a Tiger, and despite it being an early commitment, I will be a Tiger."

Andy went on to tell me that he spoke with other unofficial visitors Nick Ramirez, Jamone Boyd, Alec Abeln and Evan Boehm.

"It was good to talk with Nick, Jamone, Evan and Alec. Alec and I played together in middle school on a team. I hope to talk to as many other recruits as possible and help bring them to Missouri."
