Tigers Pick Up Texas Athlete's Commitment

The Missouri Tigers added their ninth football commitment for their 2013 recruiting class tonight following up on two commitments from Black & Gold game visitors Saturday with a Texas standout's verbal today.

Another unofficial visitor to Missouri for the Spring Game was 2013 WR prospect J'Mon Moore  6'4"  180  Missouri City (TX) Elkins, who took the trip to Missouri along with his mother, and with Nick Coffman and his family.  Coffman is a 2012 kicker from Elkins who is walking on at Missouri this fall.  ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Moore on Monday following his return home, and he talked about his visit to Missouri, and updated us on his recruitment.

"(My Missouri visit) went good,"   said Moore.   "It was very successful.  I had a great time."

On Tuesday, Moore informed me that he has committed to Missouri.  He's very excited to become a Missouri Tiger, but he had to cut our conversation short because he's "studying for a major exam".

Moore said that he has received offers from Arizona, Miami, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Purdue, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Tulsa, Vanderbilt, and West Virginia, in addition to Missouri.

Missouri is the only school that he has visited.

"It's a very nice campus,"  said Moore, talking about Missouri.   "The coaches are very nice.  Obviously, the coaches have a family atmosphere.   And, that's really good.  It's a really good environment.  Overall, it's a really nice campus.  It fits me well."

"I like the team,"   continued Moore.   "I enjoyed watching them compete.  They look like a family.  You know, they have a good time on the field, and they're competitive, and they make each other better.  I like that!"

"The one person who I looked up to, who I looked at as a resemblance of me a few years from now was (L'Damian Washington),"  said Moore.  "He seemed really nice."

Moore reports personal bests of 4.51 forty, 37" vertical jump, and a 4.11 shuttle.

I'll have more from Moore on his commitment later.
