Florida Receiver Gives Mizzou Update

The Missouri Tigers have been making the rounds in recruiting, and one 2013 prospect that has heard from the Missouri staff is a talented Florida wide receiver who gives us an update on his recruitment, including about the Tigers.

The Missouri Tigers have been making the rounds in recruiting, and one 2013 prospect that has heard from the Missouri staff is WR Eric Carter  5'11"  175  4.57   Lakeland (FL) Lake Gibson.  ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Carter, and he updated us on his recruitment.

According to Carter, Missouri has extended him a scholarship offer.  He reports offers from Ball State, Cincinnati, FIU, Toledo, UMass, and Western Kentucky, in addition to Missouri.

Carter said that Coach Brian Jones stopped by his school last week in the black and gold Mizzou bus.

Carter reports a vertical jump of 31", and a shuttle time of 4.3 seconds.  Carter is known as a route runner as a receiver, and also returns kicks.

"I'm a technician when it comes to routes,"  explained Carter, describing his receiving style.  "I create separation.   I know I'm not the fastest guy, so I'm going to kill you with my route.  I'll catch the ball, then I'll get the yards after catch.  A lot of coaches say I look real elusive on my highlight tapes."

Carter is planning to visit Cincinnati, Missouri, and Western Kentucky in June.  He may be visiting Iowa State and Purdue, as well, since he expects those schools to offer soon.

"I know that Missouri is a great place, and they're in the SEC,"  said Carter, who said that he's heard about the family environment at Mizzou, which is something that he would appreciate.

Carter would like to narrow things down by the beginning of his senior year.  Currently, he's pretty much wide open.  He did say that a few schools are recruiting him harder than the others, including Missouri, Cincinnati, FIU, UMass, and Western Kentucky.
