DE Hoping To Make Summer Mizzou Visit

The Missouri Tiger appear to have caught the attention of one of the fastest rising defensive prospect in the Southeastern part of the country. The defensive line standout, who is up to 26 offers, hopes to make a summer unofficial visit to Columbia.

With the move to the SEC officially right around the corner for the Missouri Tigers, it's no wonder that we are seeing Mizzou working hard to make some inroads into the Southeast football hotbeds of Georgia and Florida.

The Tigers are looking for a few good defensive linemen to help fill out the outstanding recruiting class they are currently building for 2013.

One of those targets is the fast rising DE from Chamblee (GA) Davin Bellamy 6'5" 225lbs 4.7 forty. spoke with Bellamy, who is up to 26 offers, after receiving 9 new ones just this week.

"Yes, Sir. Missouri offered me a couple of Wednesday's ago,"said Bellamy. "My coach came and got me out of class and let me know that Missouri's coach was by and that I have an offer. It was very surprising. I never received any mail from them, and my coach didn't believe they were recruiting me until Coach Grinch showed up."

Missouri joins schools such as Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Michigan State, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Pitt, Tennessee,South Carolina, Mississippi State and others.

Bellamy admits that he wasn't very familiar with Missouri before, but he is very interested in finding out more.

"Missouri is in the SEC now, so that gives an edge being in that conference now along with other SEC schools. I actually wasn't familiar with them until I talked to Coach Grinch, but I definitely wanna take a trip up there, possibly this summer. I have a lot of respect for Coach Grinch",said Bellamy.

Davin is good friends with A.J. Jackson, another Missouri Tiger target who has and offer and talked about making a visit during the summer when we spoke with him. Davin mentioned talking to Jackson about the two possibly making a trip together.

Bellamy, who wants to major in communications, said that he is just seriously focusing on football in the last year after playing basketball and AAU basketball during the summers. He said that he realized that football was his main sport and since dedicating himself solely to football has seen his recruitment blow up.

"I'm wide open. Every school right now has an equal opportunity. I mean, Georgia is the home state school, and Alabama is recruiting me, so if an offer came from them it would be a big deal because they are Alabama, but I am not leaning toward any school at the moment. I am going to listen to every school on the list, take some unofficial visits, and hopefully be able to decide by the end of the summer. However, I do want to take some official visits, so it's still up in the air about when I would commit somewhere," said Bellamy.

Davin said that besides academics and the coaches, that going to a program that can get him to the next level is at the top of his list. will continue to follow Davin Bellamy's recruitment.
