Florida DE Discusses Missouri Interest

The Missouri Tiger staff has been making the rounds in Florida over the past few weeks. ShowMeMizzou.com has identified a 4 star defensive end who has been talking to the Tigers, and talks about Missouri, a possible offer, and his interest level.

The  Missouri staff has been making the rounds in Florida over the past few weeks.  ShowMeMizzou.com has learned that Missouri Assistant Coach Brian Jones recently stopped by Hillsborough High in Tampa (FL) to check in on 2013 DE prospect Jordan Sherit 6'4" 243 4.73 forty.

Sherit is one of the premier defensive ends in the state of Florida, who currently holds over 30 scholarship offers, including Arizona, Auburn, Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Purdue, South Florida, Stanford, and Vanderbilt, among others.

Sherit said that he's been talking to Coach Jones, but he wasn't sure if he has a Missouri offer.  That's something that he was hoping to clarify in his next conversation with the Missouri assistant coach.

"If (Coach Jones) doesn't come by this week, I'm probably going to give him a call,"   said Sherit.   "Just to keep in touch."

Sherit said that he's "keeping it wide open" right now. He's interested in learning more about Missouri. He said the fact that Missouri had signed Dorial Green-Beckham made him think that Missouri would be "worth checking out".

He indicated that he may want to visit Missouri later this summer, but that he doesn't have any specific plans to do so at this time.

"Missouri could definitely be a destination,"  said Sherit.  "It's a great program, and I've heard wonderful things about it.  I know they signed the tight end out of Indian Rocks this year.  So I mean, there is a connection close to home.  It is definitely a possible destination, and a place where I could maybe take a visit later on.  I'm just getting to know them, and learning about the school."

Sherit reported a personal best of 35" in the standing vertical jump.  He said that he recently ran a 4.68 forty, as well.

Sherit doesn't have a specific timetable for making a decision, although he would like to narrow things down sometime this summer.

"When it feels right, I'll know,"  said Sherit, referring to a timetable for making a decision.

He cited academics and his relationship with the people at the school as major criteria likely to influence his decision.

ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow Jordan Sherit's recruitment.
