Will Missouri Get A Shot At DT Offer?

The Missouri Tigers have had an offer on the table for this 4-star defensive tackle for a little bit, and he speaks highly to ShowMeMizzou.com about the Tigers, and his recruitment by them, but will they get a shot at him, or could another school be close to getting his commitment?

ShowMeMizzou.com visits with a 2013 defensive line prospect, in DT Maurice Hurst  6'2"  290  Westwood (MA) Xaverian Brothers.  Hurst has held a Missouri offer for a while, and he has serious interest in the Tigers.

Hurst reports offers from Boston College, UConn, Maryland, UMass, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Purdue, Rutgers, Temple, Vanderbilt, and Virginia, in addition to Missouri.

Hurst seemed pretty excited about his Michigan offer, which he received just a couple of weeks ago, and he's already planning a visit to Ann Arbor in early June.

He also had positive things to say about Missouri.

"I like Missouri a lot,"  said Hurst.   "I know that the defensive line coach, Coach Kuligowski, is one of the best, if not the best, defensive line coach in the country."

Coach Kuligowski is Missouri's primary recruiter on Hurst.

"Coach Kuligowski came by my school,"  said Hurst.  "That was pretty cool, for him to come here out of his area to see me…………………………………….. I want to become the best defensive lineman possible, so I want to be coached by the best."

Hurst would like to visit Missouri, but the distance may prove to be prohibitive until this fall when he can take an official visit.

Hurst has already visited Boston College, Virginia, Penn State, Duke, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, and Maryland.

I asked Hurst about a narrowed list of schools?

"I'm really just waiting on my Michigan visit,"  explained Hurst.   "Depending on how that goes, I should be able to cut my list down even more."

Hurst seems pretty excited about visiting Michigan.  He also mentioned Virginia and Vanderbilt as other schools that he likes.

Hurst has a friend who lives in Columbia, Missouri.  He said that he may be able to visit his friend this summer, and get in an unofficial visit to the Missouri campus.   He likes Missouri, and he would like to come check out the Tigers.

ShowMeMizzou.com will have more on this talented prospect later.
