One of the top positions of need for the Missouri Tigers in the 2013 football recruiting class is the Tight End spot.
The Tigers have been searching high and low across the country for a TE capable of playing in their offense. It appears as though they have one camping with them starting today.
Nampa (ID) 2013 TE Eric Cotton 6'5" 235 4.65 forty is attending the Tigers contact camp over the next few days in Columbia. ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with him about his recruitment, and specifically recruiting from Mizzou.
"I have been talking to Missouri for a while now," said Cotton. " Coach Walker has been to my school a few weeks ago and I talk with him on a regular basis. Before he came to my school they sent me mail and talked about me coming to camp. They say they like my size, speed and ability to catch the ball. They think I can get even bigger and keep my athleticism."
The big TE is happy to be recruited by Missouri, and had hoped that an offer came during camp. He didn't have to wait that long
" Missouri offered me last Thursday,"said Cotton. "It's really exciting to be recruited by Missouri and get an offer from them. They are the perfect type of offense for the type of player that I am. Them moving to the SEC is also exciting to think about. The chance to play in the SEC is a huge deal. I have done a lot of research on Missouri, and I am pumped about camp.
"All those schools have been recruiting me pretty hard as of late and have been talking about offering me. We'll see what happens."
Cotton had 33 catches for over 800yards as a junior after switching from OT as a sophomore. He self reports a 315lbs bench max, 500lbs squat and 300lbs power clean along with his 4.65 forty time.
ShowMeMizzou.com will update Eric Cotton's recruitment as it happens.
