2014 Standout Picks Up Mizzou Offer

Football recruiting is in high gear for the Missouri Tigers football program. In the midst of camps, the Tigers have extended an offer to one of the top 2014 defensive prospects in country who is currently at their camp.

While they are in the middle of the hunt for top prospects to help close out their very successful 2013 football recruiting class, the Missouri Tigers are also one step ahead of the recruiting game and looking for worthy 2014 prospects to let know that they are wanted as Tigers.

One of those wanted prospects is 2014 DE/DT Peyton Newell 6'3" 270 4.8 forty, 4.5 shuttle –350lb bench press- 600lb squat who just picked up an offer from the Tigers according to his father, Frank Newell.

The talented defensive lineman has camped with Missouri since the 9th grade, and is currently on Mizzou's campus at their contact camp.

He recently told Scout.com this about his future in college.

"I'm playing defensive end. I'll probably stick with defensive end for my high school. But as far as the next level, I see myself moving down to the three-technique."

Newell becomes one of only a handful of 2014 offers from the Tigers, showing the level of prospect they appear to believe he is by being worthy of an early offer.

He adds Missouri to his offer list that includes TCU,Nebraska,Baylor, Kansas, UCLA, Iowa, Iowa State and Illinois for a total of 9 early offers so far.

Newell  recorded 74 tackles, six sacks, and 26 tackles for loss as a sophomore.
