Mizzou Makes DT Prospect's Top 5 List

The Missouri Tigers continue to make headway down in the Sunshine State as ShowMeMizzou.com talks with another 2013 Florida prospect who discusses his recruitment and interest in the Missouri football program.

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke to yet another defensive linemen who reports having received a Missouri offer in 2013 DT prospect Devyn Salmon  6'2"  285  Plant City (FL).

Salmon indicated that the offer from Missouri was special to him.

"The Missouri offer was big because it's my first SEC offer,"  explained Salmon.  "And, growing up a Missouri fan, it's very, very big to get an offer from them."

Salmon reported offers from Cincinnati, Iowa State, Memphis, Miami, Michigan State, Virginia, Wake Forest, and West Virginia, among others, in addition to Missouri.

Salmon reports personal bests of 4.85 in the forty-yard dash, a 26" vertical jump, a maximum of 325 pounds in the bench press, and a maximum in the squat of 550 pounds.

Salmon named a top five of Cincinnati, Miami, Missouri, Michigan State, and West Virginia.   He said he plans to visit Missouri early during the season.

Salmon indicated that he has been impressed with the Missouri coaches, and with what he has been able to learn about the Tigers.   He's looking forward to learning more about Missouri.

Salmon expects to make a final decision later this fall.

"After my last official visit, I'll sit down and look at everything and make a decision,"  said Salmon, who cited academics as an important factor in his decision.
