Missouri Number One On His Board

ShowMeMizzou.com gets the latest from a Texas standout about his recruitment and where the Missouri Tigers stand with him, including his plans for visits and when a possible decision could be coming.

It's been well-documented that the Missouri Tigers would like to add a tight end to their 2013 recruiting class.  ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with 2013 TE prospect Jason Reese  6'4"  225   Euless (TX) Trinity, who holds a Missouri offer, and who currently has Missouri as his top school.

Reese told ShowMeMizzou.com that Missouri Assistant Coach Dave Steckel had informed him of his Missouri offer early last month.

Reese reports offers from Arizona State, Indiana, Iowa State, Purdue, San Diego State, TCU, and UCF, among others, in addition to Missouri.

"I love the fact that Mizzou is reaching out to me,"  said Reese.  "I mean, Missouri right now, is number one on my board because of the way they use their tight ends.  I know some people say that Missouri's tight ends are sometimes not tight ends because they don't line up in the trenches a lot.  I mean, I have no problem with lining up in the trenches, but I also like splitting out as well, like they used Michael Egnew in the past.  Yeah.  Missouri's pretty nice.  I mean, I've done some research on the city and the campus."

Reese, who also plays basketball, has recorded a 4.61 forty-yard dash, a 33.6" vertical jump, and he reports a maximum bench press of 245 pounds.

"I'm looking to make my decision pretty soon,"  said Reese.  "But, I'm just not sure yet.  I want to take my officials."

Reese indicated that he'd like to visit Missouri early during the season, and that if he likes it, he could go ahead and commit to the Tigers.

"Hopefully, I'll like what I see there,"  said Reese.  "And if I like what I see, then I'm just going to jump on that offer, and I'm just going to commit right there."

"And, there's even the possibility that I could commit before I visit,"  explained Reese.  "Because I like the school a lot.  I could do well at that university."

I asked Reese about the prospect of playing in the SEC?

"The SEC is big time!  I've always dreamed of playing in the SEC actually, but I never thought it was going to happen."   replied Reese.   "I mean, I'm perfectly fine with going to the Big 12 or the PAC 12.  But I mean, now, it's right there in front of me."

Reese said that he hasn't given much thought to the possibility of graduating early, but he did say that his schoolwork is in order, and that he thinks it could be a possibility.

ShowMeMizzou.com will have more on Jason Reese later.
