Jones is being recruited by a number of schools to play on either side of the football. He reports offers from Arkansas, Arkansas State, Central Florida, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Georgia State, Kentucky, Louisiana-Lafayette, Minnesota, North Carolina State, South Florida, and Wake Forest, in addition to Missouri.
Jones had previously reported a personal best of 4.45 in the forty-yard dash, to go along with a 39" vertical jump, and a 4.12 shuttle. He plays QB and safety for his high school, and he is being recruited to play QB, WR, corner, and safety by various programs.
Jones talked about his interest in Missouri.
"I like Coach Grinch," said Jones, who earlier said that he could see himself playing wide receiver at Missouri. "I like Missouri."
Jones and his family are heading out to take some unofficial visits this weekend, with Arkansas, Arkansas State, and Missouri on the itinerary.
Jones explained that he has family in Illinois, Arkansas, and Georgia. Arkansas has offered Jones as a safety. Arkansas State wants him to play QB. And, Louisiana-Lafayette has offered him to play CB.
"Missouri's kind of in the middle of where most of my family is," explained Jones. "I have family in Illinois, Arkansas, and in Georgia, so it's kind of in the middle. So, everybody's close."
Jones is not in a particular hurry to reach a decision, but he does appear to be narrowing things down.
