Recently, ShowMemizzou.com spoke with 2012 QB prospect Brock Bondurant 6'2" 210 Memphis (MO) Scotland County, who has accepted an invitation to walk on at the beginning of fall camp with the Missouri Tigers.
"My dream finally came true," said Bondurant. "I never thought that I'd make it into fall camp…………………………………………. I just want to contribute in any way that I can."
Bondurant played QB and safety at Class A Scott County, as well as starred for the school's basketball and baseball teams. He's a "lifelong Missouri fan" who plans to pursue broadcast journalism at Mizzou, and wants to do some coaching after his playing days are completed.
"They told me that they're going to put me on the team as a quarterback," explained Bondurant. "I've been told that I'll start out as a quarterback, and that they'll probably move me to safety next fall."
Missouri had gotten a good look at Bondurant in June of 2011, as he had attended the Tigers' one day camp in St. Louis as well as one of their on-campus team camps.
Like Missouri starting QB James Franklin, Bondurant is coming off of shoulder surgery to repair a torn labrum. He's been throwing for a couple of months, and he doesn't expect any problems during camp.
His father and high school coach, Brent Bondurant, talked about his favorite player.
"He's always been a student of the game," said Brent Bondurant, talking about his son, Brock. "He's battled through that shoulder injury, and (he) is just a real dedicated kid………………………………….. He's a good leader for the younger kids."
Bondurant called this opportunity to be a part of the Missouri Tigers a "dream come true".
