ShowMeMizzou.com checked in with one of Missouri's 2013 verbal commits, and spoke with DE prospect Marcus Loud 6'4" 238 Houston (TX) Wheatley. Loud talked about how his summer has gone, and he updated us on his recruitment.
Loud chose not to play AAU basketball this summer, although he does intend to play basketball this winter for Wheatley. Loud said that he focused on football instead, and he played both ways for Wheatley in 7-on-7 action, as he played both receiver and linebacker. Loud was timed at 4.7 seconds in the 40-yard dash this summer, and he has been working in the weight room in preparation for his senior season at Wheatley.
Loud said that his verbal commitment to Missouri is solid.
"I'm solid for Missouri," said Marcus Loud. "I'm proud to be (a Missouri Tiger)."
Loud said that he is looking forward to visiting Missouri this fall. He's going to try to make arraignments to visit Missouri for an SEC game. Loud said that the SEC is his "favorite conference".
Loud has been contacted by a number of other schools since he committed to Missouri. He indicated that he would like to take some official visits, and he mentioned Texas A&M and Colorado as a couple of possible visit destinations. He said that he wants to "see what's out there", but he insisted that he's solidly committed to Missouri.
"They know I'm committed (to Missouri)," said Loud, speaking of his other suitors.
I'll have more on Marcus Loud later.
