Early in the 2012 Missouri high school football season the Parkway Central Colts are one of the surprise unbeaten teams left after 4 games. One of the main reasons for the Colts 4-0 start so far has been the outstanding defensive play, including several potential D1 prospects who have been contributing.
One of those prospects in MLB/DE Trey Knes 6'5" 220 4.65 forty. Knes is a tall rangy linebacker and big hitter with good speed who plays sideline to sideline and also does a good job covering receivers in pass coverage. Through four games he is one of their leading tacklers with 29 overall to go with 2 sacks and an interception.
As good as he is playing the linebacker position his future will likely be playing with his hand on the ground at the next level. He has all the physical tools you would look for in a defensive end on the college level. Colleges have already mentioned this to him.
Trey was one of many underclassmen who were at this past weekend's Missouri vs. Arizona State game. In a previous interview with Trey he had this to say about Mizzou
"I love Mizzou! My Dad went there. My Great-Uncle played running back at Mizzou a long, long time ago. Andy Bauer is one of my good friends and he is committed there. Andy and I played AAU basketball together in 6th,7th and 8th grade and know each other really well. Actually, my Dad and Andy's Dad both went there and were in the same frat. So, I definitely have high interest in Missouri. It's too early to say anyone is a favorite, but they are high on my list of schools"
ShowMeMizzou.com was at Trey's game last Friday to scout him and some of his teammates. We spoke with him following his team's victory to get an update on his recruitment.
