Skipper Planning To Take Visits

The Missouri Tigers recently lost one of their offensive line commitments for the 2013 football recruiting class. has the latest update from a former target of theirs who is re-thinking his recruitment.

For this year’s recruiting class, the Missouri Tigers have identified offensive tackle as an area of need. spoke with 2013 OT prospect Dan Skipper  6’10”  295  Arvada (CO)  Ralston Valley whose season ended last week with a loss in the state semifinal round. 

“We did get close,”   Skipper said of the Mustangs’ semifinal exit.   “We just couldn’t quite finish it off……………………………………… But, it helps that I haven’t played in my last football game.”

Skipper is still committed to Tennessee, but in the wake of Derek Dooley’s dismissal, the talented tackle is reviewing his options.  He’s keeping his options open, and he’s playing it close to the vest.

Of course, Skipper has long been a coveted target for the Tigers, and he and his family hosted Missouri assistant Bruce Walker in their home last week.

“It was good,”  said Skipper, talking about Coach Walker’s in-home visit. 

Skipper has an official visit to Michigan scheduled for December 14.  Skipper has already taken an official visit to Tennessee.  He doesn’t have any other official visits scheduled, but he has an official visit to Missouri tentatively scheduled for January 25.

“I like Coach Walker and Coach Henson a lot,”  said Skipper, talking about the Missouri assistants with whom he is most familiar.  “And, Missouri’s looking for a tackle.”

As for a decision, Skipper’s not in a hurry.  In the meantime, he's been selected to play in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl,which is set for December 30th at Reliant Stadium in Houston. will have more on Dan Skipper later.
