Trio Making Weekend Official Visits To Mizzou

The Missouri Tigers will host a large group of official visitors this weekend as recruiting season kicks into high gear. has the scoop on a trio of teammates making the trip this weekend.

Three seniors from Euless (TX) Trinity high school are taking official visits to Missouri this weekend, including TE prospect Jason Reese  6’4”  228, defensive line prospect Gaius Vaenuku  6’5” 275, and OG prospect Salesi Uhatafe  6’5”  307.  Vaenuku and Reese hold Missouri offers.  Uhatafe is hoping Missouri will be his first offer. 

Vaenuku and Uhatafe are Tongans who are also scheduled to visit Utah next month.  Vaenuku told that he now holds 44 scholarship offers.   He’s a defensive end who continues to grow, and he may grow himself into a defensive tackle. 

“Missouri is a pretty good school,”  said Vaenuku.   “I want to find out if everything that (Coach Stec) has told me is true.”

"Missouri is my first (official visit)." said Vaenuku.  “I’ll probably take official visits to Oklahoma State and TCU.” 

Vaenuku has grown over the past year, and he said that he’s still growing.   He reported a 4.88 second forty time along with a 25” vertical.   He said that Uhatafe is the best offensive lineman that he’s faced.

Uhatafe said that he’s been timed at 5.3 seconds in the forty-yard dash.  He’s more quick than fast.  He’s looking forward to his visit to Missouri.

“I’ve been thinking about it a lot,”  said Uhatafe.  “Is it cold out there?” will have more on all three of these prospective student-athletes later.
