Recruits React To Hire Of Henson reported on Josh Henson's status with the team on Saturday night in the Roar Room. Since then as word of his hire as the new Offensive Coordinator has made the rounds, we have gotten the reaction of Tiger commits. reported on Saturday night that Missouri Tigers co-Offensive Line coach Josh Henson had turned down the offer to become the Offensive Coordinator at Southern Mississippi job that was offers to him by new Head Coach Todd Monken, and would be staying as a member of the Tigers staff. also reported that sources had told us that Tigers Head Coach Gary Pinkel had made up his mind regarding a new Mizzou offensive coordinator following the departure of David Yost and that Josh Henson could possibly be named soon, possibly within the next day or so.

Today, following getting word that the Tigers had indeed hired from within and will be naming Josh Henson the new Missouri Offensive Coordinator, spoke to multiple recruits to get their thoughts on the hire.

"I'm thrilled!" said QB Trent Hosick."I couldn't be happier."

"It's awesome,"said Clay Rhodes." I'm so relieved that he stayed. All of the players that I've talked to at Mizzou say he's a football genius, so I think that the role of offensive coordinator will suit him well."

"I couldn't be any happier,"said Missouri OT commit Harneet Gill." I was very saddened that coach Yost had resigned. He was a great coach and was so good with the players. I have a great relationship with Coach Henson I am happy for him and his family and glad he's staying in CoMo. Plus, he is very smash mouth with his blocking views so hopefully he brings that kind of view to the whole offensive perspective."

"With Coach Henson, I feel like he's my friend as well as a second dad. He sends a great message and has a great view of where the team needs to be, and am very excited."

Missouri 2013 RB commit Chase Abbington was unaware of the news at first, but shared his thoughts.

"Oh, well I didn't know that," said Abbington." I'm excited! I know be likes to run the ball, so I'm good."

Marietta (GA) Lassiter QB and Missouri mid-year transfer Eddie Printz responded to the news by saying he was "very pleased" with the hire.
