Augusta Shares Lastest On Recruiting Plans

Following his week at an All-Star game, Peoria (IL) DT Josh Augusta gives the very latest on where things are with his recruitment, including when a possible decision could come.

Following his return home from a week in Los Angeles for the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, 2013 DT prospect Josh Augusta  6'5"  305    Peoria (IL) took a few minutes to speak with, and he talked about his all-American experience, and he updated us on his recruitment.

"It was all right,"  said Augusta.   "It was nice!  I had a lot of fun!"

During practice leading up to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, the coaches determined that Augusta would draw a double team throughout the game, and in the practice drills.  So, Augusta spent the week and the game going up against two All-American offensive linemen.  Augusta took it as a huge sign of respect, and he spent the game taking up two blockers, holding the line of scrimmage, and he even managed to get in on a few tackles, as well as recovering a fumble for his team.

"The coaches knew I was a good athlete, so they was going to double team me,"  Augusta laughed.    "I liked it, because it means I'm doing something right………………………………………… I liked the challenge."

Augusta is planning to visit Illinois on January 18th, and Michigan State on 25th.   He said that he would make a decision after his final visit.

He said that Missouri is still his top school, followed by Illinois and Michigan State, in that order.

Augusta said that he spoke to Coach Ford, and that he expects a visit from Coach Ford and Coach Pinkel this Saturday. will have more on Josh Augusta later.
