Mizzou Football Recruiting Notes

With only a few weeks left until signing day, recruiting is going fast and furiously for the Missouri Tigers football program as they are working hard to find the right players to try and close out their 2013 class with

It appears that the recent addition of WR coach Pat Washington had led to offers to two of his former targets he was recruiting while at Kentucky as 3-star Atlanta (GA) Mays WR Deangelo Yancey 6'2"197 and Franklin Co. (KY) ATH Ryan Timmons 5'11"190 have both picked up Missouri offers in the past week.

Yancey is a current Kentucky commit who says he is  solid with the Wildcats, but has a good relationship with Washington, who recruited him while at Kentucky.

Timmons attended the Tigers one day camp in St. Louis back in 2011 and ShowMeMizzou.com reported on him being one of the standout there showcasing his speed, athleticism, and ball skills.

This past year, Timmons lead his team in rushing and receiving. He rushed for 1260 yards and 25 touchdowns. He caught 29 passes for 970 yards and 17 more scores. Timmons had 101 total touches on offense and accounted for 2230 yards and 42 touchdowns.

Timmons is also an outstanding return man who could also play defensive back if things did not work out on the offensive side of the ball at WR or RB.

He recently also picked up and offer from California has offers from Arkansas, Kentucky, Purdue and Western Kentucky, and is being recruited by Florida and Ohio State late.

Timmons is visiting Kentucky this weekend after canceling a scheduled visit to Ohio State. Mizzou is apparently in the running for one of his last two official visits.

The Tigers are still pursuing John Burroughs RB Ezekiel Elliott who is committed to Ohio State.

This weekend the Tigers are hosting Tampa TE Travis Johnson, Fresno JUCO S Duron Singleton, CBC CB commit Aarion Penton and Maplewood DT commit Antar Thompson on official visits.
